It was in a house if I recall or at least a building that once was a house. Thank you, again PghYoPro!

Hmm, the other Italian standouts in SS I know of are: Dish Osteria and Bar; Alla Famiglia (up on Warrington Ave.)

There is a place on 25th St. that has changed names several times. It is currently called Cucina Vitale; I can't for the life of me remember the old name.

PghYoPro...thank you! Yes, it was Dish Osteria Bar that you mention. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Looking forward to revisiting. Shall we try the others?

I like Stagioni in the South Side, but it isn't quite on the level of Dish or Alla Famiglia.

Well then, we will re-visit Dish and then the others...tough job eating good Italian fare, but someone has to do it. Looking forward to Stagioni...thanks!

Yeah, it's miles ahead of them. Stagioni is perfectly executed, authentic farm-to-table Italian fare. The others are very good red-sauce Italian-Ameican restaurants, aka uninspiring.

Deja vu. Went to Lydia's last week, still one of the best places in town.

Anybody made it yet to Ease "Modern Comfort Cuisine", just opened after remodeling Dunnning's space on S. Braddock in Regent Square?

Open as of a couple of days ago, grand opening apparently scheduled for 3/24. Http://www.easepgh.com (although site is incomplete, menu is up.)

Perhaps I'll have lunch there soon and report back. Tater Tot & Duck Confit Poutine, anyone?

This probably doesn't belong in the Foodies thread, but I actually liked Dunnings as was. I hope the new iteration does well, but it looks like it's not going to be the low-key pub to get a sandwich and beer-type place. There's always D's for that, I guess.
