I think that's a fair assessment. A curfew timed right before the election? Shops on Newbury are currently boarding up their windows. My wife, who works downtown, was told to work remote the next two days. I guess it's best to plan for the worst, but we all deserve better than this. This country is in trouble.

Thx. That impacts me, working for the casinos (corporate)

I see cops wearing masks. mostly the neck ones that they can pull up and down easily. i also see cops wearing n95s on outdoor details but the whole time? cops don't want anyone's filthy germs but they have some common sense i guess.

There was also a boston cop who died of corona so they're well aware the risk is out there.

i don't know how casinos are open right now or why anyone would go to one other than addiction.

If you aren't in need, you should throw the card away. In certain cities in towns every family was sent a card if the % of students in that municipality qualifying for free/reduced school lunches is above a certain threshold. I guess it was too cumbersome to parse the lists and they just wanted to get $ into the hands of those in need.

I have friends who did not need this card gloating about their free $500 'after all they pay enough in taxes'...nauseating to the point of making me reevaluate the relationship. I asked our school if we could donate the card to a family that was truly in need. However, this is not so straight forward due to pin codes, etc. We destroyed ours.

Clearly we are not the demographic these new regulations are targeting. None of these affect me except that I now have to wear a mask out while walking my dog, even if nobody is around (but I can take it off in a restaurant). I don't know, these don't seem dramatic enough to make a big difference with transmission, but are dramatic enough to anger people who are already frustrated.

i'm in duxbury, noticed youre in norwell. we occasionally bring our dog to the bogs but people don't wear masks nor does anyone while walking through neighborhoods. i always bring a mask and put it on if i see others wearing one but it's rare.

He's full of it.

Probably related to drinking. That's around the time when people start getting sloppy.

The National Guard has been called in. Apparently rioting is expected nationwide if Trump wins.
