I can highly recommend this "documentary" to all the conspiracy aficionados here, who uh, aren't afraid of the "real truth" :-).

Thanksgiving covid surge under way just as flu is starting to pick up, too. https://www.mwra.com/biobot/biobotdata.htm
Good luck to our (already full) hospitals and happy holidays to our doctors and nurses and other medical staff!

We can always count on one person here for the "real truth" because God knows if it's his opinion, then it's the real truth, and anything else is just a conspiracy. This thread is always good for a chuckle.

Bad news about my two elderly neighbors that went out with Covid before thanksgiving. One ended up passing. The other is still in rehab and not out of the woods yet.

Jeez, that is brutal, very sorry to hear that. I have heard anecdotes - friends of my friends, who have long-Covid, and that can go on and on and can be pretty debilitating. There is a broad spectrum of experiences with the course of this disease, from people who barely know they are sick to people who never recover.

"American life expectancy is now at its lowest in nearly two decades: Kochanek and his colleagues had hoped the release of new vaccines might make for a healthier 2021, and didn't anticipate deaths from COVID-19 would top the prior year. But they were wrong. In fact, COVID-19 accounted for about 60% of the decline in life expectancy."
