My barber will do what you want - you can ask the barber to wear one and you can continue to wear one if you want.

I'm back from my hair appointment. I ended up ditching the mask and it was bliss!

It was pretty mixed, some with masks, some without, but everyone was pretty calm about it either way. It almost felt normal.

I went to the dollar store this morning and there was a sign saying you didn't need to wear a mask. My daughter and I kept ours on and everyone else had theirs on too. At one point and old man came and yelled, hi do I have to wear a mask in here!! We then went to ocean state job lot and no one had on a mask except us. Those are the only places I've been so far today. Good times.

Where I went it definitely the majority had their masks on. But it wasn't 100%, I'd say 80%.

I went to have my car inspected and I was the only one wearing a mask. I decided to keep it on for a little longer.

Went to the Shrewsbury Home Depot today and many still wore masks (including myself and I am fully vaccinated) but also plenty not wearing.

I still plan on wearing a mask to go indoors and through busy downtown areas for the foreseeable future. The time I might not wear a mask anymore is when taking walks and there's hardly anyone else around. People have been doing that all year long though. The individuals who probably are most likely to stop mask wearing are indoor diners and workers who have to wear masks all day at work, and I won't be either anytime soon.

A thread by Ashish Jha on the stunning disparities in vaccination rates between Newton and Springfield.

Lots of MDs in Newton. Makes sense to me.
Springfield? They maybe just don't see it as a priority the way people in Newton do.

It's easy to get an appt and it's free.

Certainly the comparison between between the two cities is shocking, but this doctor claiming that the reasons the numbers are so different are because of race and income is not proven.

Do you really think the officials for the state of Massachusetts are thinking "Hey Springfield is mostly Black and Hispanic, let's be sure they don't get vaccines!"

A state like Mass would like nothing more than to tell the country they have the highest rate of Black and Brown citizens.

I'm sure poverty played a role, but without hard evidence, am educated doctor like him shouldn't come to any conclusions.
