My dh just called, he's on the Parkway in Norwalk. He's heading south, and he passed a huge multi-car accident on the northbound side. As he passed he watched several cars coming around the curve smashing into the cars already involved in the accident, they were unable to stop. He said it's snowing heavily there right now. At least it wasn't on the southbound side. (so far!)

Snow/sleet mix (and lightly "sticking") here in Stamford where I'm working today on High Ridge Road about halfway between the Merritt and 95.

OKX now saying snow/sleet until mid-morning even in the Bronx, Manhattan and northern half of Queens (where it's not yet; map as of 7:55am seems to show edge of moderate/heavy precip in eastern 1/3 of Westchester approaching New Rochelle/Larchmont or so). Cambium, I think you called this one pretty decently.....

Given what a "weather geek" (and somewhat "winter/snow geek") I am, I'm glad this was my 3000th post

Wow Cambium, you posted the same time as me! I guess great minds think alike, LOL!

"Retrograde storms" are rare but they do happen. Ironically, the place they are most "common" in the US though still pretty rare is New England into the upper Mid-Atlantic (about Philly on north).

We'll see.
Guess it was a little faster...3 days off the later date.
