1. You're in 8-12 on that map. The cul-de-sac is 15-20 due to drifting.

2. I havent even begun to look past this one. lol
But it sounds like it makes sense...cold air is going to receed and the trend of the snow has been eastward with each storm...so it only makes sens ewe see mixing next time.

One storm at a time.

GFS & Euro come around to a big storm.... And so we have checkmate.

6 models (GFS, EURO,UKMET,NOGAP,DGEX,JMA)has 10-15 inches of snow along I-95

A map from NEQ(The NorthEast Quadrant)
I find it interesting that the map to this post shows the "big snow" in a relatively small area (albeit one that includes NYC, Philly and Hartford). I wonder why the sudden dropoffs as one goes almost immediately to the east? Is it because of any possibility of rain mixing in? I know the OKX discussion thought this might happen in southeast CT and eastern LI, but not west of that.

Also any thoughts on the "mix" (as DandJ mention) for the following Saturday?

Since I'm not sure how many of you read the forecast narrative on the Albany NWS site, I'm excerpting the below re: the upcoming storm. Weather nerd humor at its finest!

GULF COAST SYSTEM QUITE DYNAMIC NOW...BUT GUIDANCE CONSENSUS
SUGGESTS DEAMPLIFICATION AND WEAKENING AS IT TRACKS TOWARD THE
COASTAL CAROLINAS. HOWEVER...THE ATMOSPHERIC DEEP MOISTURE AND
POTENTIAL VORTICITY FOOTPRINT WILL STILL EXIST...LIKE A FUSE THAT
JUST NEEDS TO BE RE-LIT. THE LOW LEVEL FEATURE IS PREDICTED TO
EMERGE OFF THE CAROLINAS...WITH THE GULF STREAM AND THERMAL
GRADIENT BAROCLINICITY LIGHTING THE FUSE. THE NORTHERN STREAM
UPPER ENERGY AND DYNAMICS COULD SUPPORT SOME ENSUING CONVECTIVE
FIREWORKS AND THE SNOW BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR AS THE STORM DEVELOPS
OFF THE CAROLINAS AND MID ATLANTIC COAST. O.
K. THAT MIGHT HAVE
BEEN TOO POETIC
...BUT SOME HINTS AT CONVECTIVE CHARACTER TO SYSTEM
WITH SOME DOWNSTREAM UPPER RIDGING...THAT COULD STEER THE SYSTEM
ALONG THE MORE NORTHWESTERN PREDICTED TRACKS IN GUIDANCE.

I think the question is, should I start a new topic or not? I really doubt everyone reads this thread and I think now is the time they need to mentally prepare for worse case senario. I bet you most people think its going to be sunny with no snow on their minds.

I think most regulars on this forum read "Connecticut Weather". While I find your hype to be a bit much sometimes, you are like our weatherman and I have grown to take what you say more seriously than in the past.

Examples 4 days before:
OMG Its going to be a blizzard = Hype
This model showing over a foot for CT = reality

I dont even know how to hype without looking stupid. If the track is too far West & give us rain, I'll say it and try to chant East. lol

I dont believe in hyping weather, I have nothing to win by it and weather always changes. Im just a little person without a meteo license.....yet...

Lets have some fun watching mother nature. This Earth is amazing and what its capable of.
