The NWS is downplaying it again.....only 1-2" most places except eastern CT and eastern Suffolk County where they put up a Winter Weather Advisory for 2-5" potential.

* Models have dropped the liquid amounts for points south of New London Counties. lol Not surprising. huh. Lets see what happens.

Big shift East with models and HPC thinking. There's the 50 mile shift difference we always talk about which lowered the totals.

Please post any OBS or totals you have. Thanks.

Here's HPC yesterdays forecast on left, todays on right. Big shift East.

What I found funny is this morning, they were talking up 2-4 inches (5 at most) like it was this "big storm." Please, if this had happened last year it would've been non news.
Now it sounds like even less?? oh well, I'm prepared anyways, parked my car at the farthest end of the driveway possible, so I'm able to get out.

From NWS Boston. Enjoy the weekend. Watch those winds tomorrow. 1042 High Pressure coming down into U.S.

"Light snow was falling across south coastal Massachusetts into southern Rhode Island as of 5 AM this Saturday morning. Low pressure developing off the southeastern U.S. coast will move well southeast of Nantucket today. With this low moving much further south of New England, we are not expecting as much snow as previously forecast. The Winter Weather Advisory that was in effect for eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and northeastern Connecticut has been cancelled."

Current Radar: Lots of Dry air got in. Low near North Carolina moving too far OTS.

NWS is also giving 20% chance of a brief non-big flurry event late Sunday night.

Looks like two reasons this was a "dud" this morning:

1) As you said, went further south than expected.

2) Didn't get cold enough, NWS shows that a lot more rain mixed in and it didn't stick well......
