Today is the type of day I like the fact that we are surrounded by lots of mature trees, and our yard is mostly shady. I was just out watering plants and there was a nice breeze. It was pleasant! Walking in the hot sun though, no, that's no fun on days like today with high humidity.

I knew you were going to say that! As I was typing my rant, I thought to myself -- I kid you not -- "andthentherewere3 is probably LOVING this day!"

Breeze and shade makes it tolerable but still not preferred of course. Tell that to my neighbor who took down 5 of the only 7 trees he had and doesnt plant news one. So there I am walking around in shade and all of a sudden BAM a strip of sun and the entire area around his house is a few degrees hotter (especially the pavement)

I told him today, at least plant small trees for the future. Gees.

Same person will complain about their electric bill. His A/C runs a whole lot more than mine and i got my T-Stat set at 69.

Default Storms 7-18-11

Heads up. SPC has 5% chance of Tornado (so that means there's a chance) and 30% chance of winds of over 55MPH. Tell who you can. First batch to come through after 2pm. Then another wave behind it for evening.

The "big storms" predicted for early afternoon really fizzled out. I would classify it as drizzle, at best.

Yeah, first wave totally dissapated ( alllll year they been doing that) except I think eastern CT got a few local downpours. Now this next wave should bring some heavy downpours to more areas. Just another summer storm...

This year has been incredible in the fact that storms dissapear before getting into Connecticut. Amazing to watch.

Not out of woods until midnight though

Anyone experience heavy thunderstorms last night. Seemed like they were just in southern Fairfield. Pretty intense stuff in some locations. Lightning was so bright I actually had to close my eye tight after it flashed. Hail was being shown on radar in Witon, Norwalk, and Bridgeport but because it was dark and a small area I doubt anyone seen or reported anything. Wind gusts were to 30mph+ and winds changed directions

We had nothing in northern FFC. Every year I always wait for storms with anticipation, but they usually die out when they hit Ct., or just scatter here and there. I have friends in Penn. who are always talking about the wild storms they frequently get.

Guys, this is not a bad thing, with this sweltering heat. Especially after we lost power for 48+ hrs (June 9 - 11), we can do without "wild storms"!

I agree! We also lost power then, luckily for only 24 hours. Being that I am on well water (no power = no water), I am absolutely fine with zero thunderstorms!
