yeah basically the euro forms a stronger storm and has it cut over us, the American model keeps it weak and OTS. I'm waiting to see any agreement before making another update. Either way it still looks weak and just a normal rain for us.

Also note winds will shift and bring in some warmer air. Should be near normal and slightly above this week.

Something im seeing for next week could bring 70s back in the picture...still too early to say .

I was trying to find a post of mine on my thoughts for this winter...I'm still sticking with it... Average to above avg temps with quick cold shots that won't last long for first half with below avg precip. After holidays persistant colds and above avg precip pattern returns.

2nd half winter this year . I'm sticking to those thoughts.

I call this weather the 3 Bs of weather. Beautiful, Boring, Beware weather. lol...
Awesome fall weather, enjoy it...

Worse case senario for Thursday/Friday - Coastal system phases with a cold front and gives us heavy rains and high winds.

Some models still have it OTS which would mean light rain only.

New Pattern is here... Normal Temps with sharp cold fronts, Below Average Precip. Patterns last 6-10 weeks in my findings up this way.

This pattern started Mid October..that means by end of December pattern will change. Im thinking below normal temps and above average precip again.

I agree...it is definitely setting up a pattern similar to last years weather...

I was thinking about last January and I dont think that pattern will ever be duplicated again even if something similar does materialize this year .

Must have been a killer up there for anyone who enjoys warm winters, that was a January to remember and it showed snow patterns can go right to the coast if conditions are right.

Interesting stats to show how November can be quite interesting if the pattern is right.

Snow fell twice in 1995 in November, including 2.4 inches on November 29 of that year. That was the snowiest Winter on record across southwestern Connecticut. Another "snowstorm" of note happened on November 6 and 7 of 1953 when a combined 5.4 inches fell.

We begin to experience a dramatic decline in average temperatures. At the start of the month, the normal high and low are 59 and 43 degrees, respectively. However, by month's end, the normals are 47 and 33. That's an 11-degree drop in the mean temperature.

The coldest November happened 15 years ago, in 1996, when the mercury averaged 40.7 degrees.

Whats one thing that stands out in this current Satelite picture?

Hint #1. It could be named Sean.
Hint #2. It could give us some Rain on Thursday

Look at that spin on it.

No doubt – November can be quite interesting....if the pattern is right. Of course the pendulum can swing both ways:

The warm temps (upper 60’s) forecasted for Tuesday across the Tri-State area have gone much warmer, and even later in the month; In 1993 on November 15th – highs temps soared to 78 F at Bridgeport...80 F at Central Park...and 81 F at Newark. In fact, it’s not uncommon to see 70’s in the Tri-State area in the three winter months; Just 13 years ago in 1998 – the Tri-State/Middle Atlantic enjoyed temps into the 70’s several times in December; NWS Bridgeport hit 72 F (Dec 4, 1998)...and 76 F (December 7, 1998), while Central Park hit 75 F on Dec 7, 1998. In fact, Central Park has cracked 70 F in each of the three winter months several times.

The warmest November happened in 1975...when the mean temp was 50 F at NWS. In that year - NWS Bridgeport hit 78 F on November 4th.

True..but

This day in 1938 the temperature hit 78 degrees, but the day after Thanksgiving the same year there was a 10" blizzard with 50mph gusts and 18 degrees.

Correct...looking at some stuff looks like change is coming but not yet.. Some projections looking like a mid to late month change... Some saying before Thanksgiving...I just dont think so.

And keep in mind it takes nothing this time of year for a cold front, a negative tilt trof and a surface low pressure to happen...Just like the Rare October snowstorm we just had. It can happen while having above average temps days before.

Fun stuff huh.
