NWS Central Park received 2.9 inches…NWS JFK received 1.5 inches….NWS Bridgeport received 3.9 inches…NL/Groton 0.3 inches…NWS Islip 0.3 inches…NWS Windsor Locks, CT got a trace (T)….and I got 0.5 inches that was 100% melted by noon. Yea, it was “massive alright”. As of today - there was not a single trace of snow left in 99% of CT/NYC/NJ. Here is the traffic cams…see if you can find a shot with snow on the ground (lol):

ConnDOT: Connecticut Traffic Cameras

Calling that massive is the real insult to the people who live in the snowbelts up in the Great Lakes, Mt West, Northern New England, CA…etc, and get 100 to 300 inches of snow EVERY winter. They must be having a good chuckle at our “massive storm” the gods of media and marketing concocted.

Hype on....
You have no idea what you're talking about. I don't know what the traffic cams are pointing at but it's not representative of the snow many people received.

I got nearly two feet of some of the heaviest snow I've ever had to remove in my area. Today looking out the window it looks like mid-winter conditions.

You are CLUELESS...Of COURSE the freakin snow melted, its November 1st..average highs are in the 50's. You can't even admit that was a serious event. Stop comparing this to other places..what does that have to do with it? This was October for godsakes!! The snow did real damage to many trees and powerlines. It was the time of year that made it massive. Do you realize places got 12-24 inches of some of the heaviest snow you could have...

In my own community of West Hartford, despite last 3 days of highs near 50, I can attest that there is still substantial snow left on the ground as of this morning, especially in shaded areas. I think the high moisture content and compaction have something to do with this.

Uh, what? It wasn't even a dusting in Branford - we got about 5". Family in Oxford got over a foot. There's still about 4" on the ground up there.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. Absolutely clueless.

Actually in wavehunters defense, I believe he is quite knowledgable about weather. Problem is in his never ending quest to diminish snowstorms and zing snow lovers he stepped across the line of normal logic .... I am sure he will come on with a retraction.

I mean clueless regarding the impact the storm had around the state. This was not a "dusting" storm, by a long shot.

What actually happened is I think if you look on the BOX website and pull up Windsor Locks it shows a T for the season but that's because it was MISSING the incredible 20.3" on 10/29 (there was even an M in there for missing on the 10/29 climate report). Not sure if they fixed it yet.

But like kidyankee said..it doesn't matter. Unless you had your head in the sand you know a major part of the state got a ton of heavy wet debilitating snow.
