I believe it was Bob Maxon on NBC Ct. news on Monday that said so far this was the second snowiest season on record. I can't remember how much snow he said we'd gotten so far, but before this latest storm I'm pretty sure he said we'd need an additional 15" of snow to meet or break the record. I seriously doubt at this late date we'll get that much more snow, though. I certainly hope not, this winter adversely affected a lot of people in numerous ways.

Blue Skies couple of high clouds. What a georgous day. Get out there and enjoy it!

Here's the long range forecast per one model: Looks like 60's coming our way for mid April..

Lets get through the next 10 days of 20s and 30s and then more seasonable temps will be here for mid April..

I Got my Excavator ready for digging this weekend.

Hartford has 85.1" of snow for the winter so far. The record, set in 1995-96, is over 100" but I don't know the exact amount.

Bridgeport has 62.6" of snow this winter so far. I believe it's also the 2nd snowiest winter. Their record is 76.7" also in 1995-96

Well..this is one of the more difficult arguments..Nobody wants to see a snow storm cause damage. Its like watching a nice afternoon thunderstorm. lets face it , they can be pretty entertaining. However, if someone is struck and killed by a lightning bolt, then its tragic and a disaster.. That does not mean the guy sitting on his back porch watching a late afternoon storm roll in enjoying the lightning display wished harm on others..See the difference? People like snowstorms, they are fun to watch. However, nobody likes to drive in it and NOBODY wants to see others suffer from it...a very fine line.

Thunder Sleet in NJ. Thunder Sleet! - CNN iReport

CNN producer note

myfandoms recorded this footage of an unusual weather event: Thunder and sleet at the same time. The video was shot from her back porch in Grand Meadows, NJ. "I know thunder snow isn't all that common, and I have never experienced thunder hail, so I figured it had to be pretty unusual."
