Why does WTNH's website have the snow totals for the majority of the state as 4-8 inches. Is that accurate? It sounds high to me.

Probably not. Gil Simmons likes to be dramatic and overestimate.

Try this: NWS Taunton, MA - City, State, Zone Forecasts

Click on the link "Southern New England" and scroll to find your county.. Also "Eastern NewYork" and "SouthEastern NY" I hate how they always split up our State but once you find your location, just save the link and use it in future..

You can also click the link above and input your zip code at top left..Click go and the forecast will come up... If you want in depth details scroll down and click "forecast discussion". Hope this helps.

I am sticking with my very original forecast from 5 days ago of nobody seeing more than 5 inches with this storm in our State but I could be wrong in northern parts of CT. ... I think some parts of Jersey and PA got 9" already.

I see Danbury already reporting snow and 30 F (well ahead of the predicted noon start time), while we're 36 F here in Hartford. Is this a case of where the snowfall itself will result in temp drop through convective cooling?

Virga...front end stuff...and yes...This cooled the surface and air more plus moistened the atmosphere up for later

Should we post the obs here for future purposes? Doesnt matter.

Yes, at 6am this morning Central Park was 32-deg and White Plains, NY 25 miles to the north was 39 (as was Bridgeport). It is very very rare that White Plains (and to a lesser extent Bridgeport) is warmer than CP in the morning/late night, and certainly not 7 degrees warmer.
