Wunderground has it starting about 10. Kinda sucks since I'll be trying to clear two houses of ice dams before it starts. Oh well, such is life.

The storm has sped up and so totals will be down. This is why its hard to make a forecast. Weather changes in an instant. Now afternoon commute could be terrible, not tomorrow morning.

*SNOWSTORM UPDATE JANUARY 26, 2011*

because the storm decided to move faster here are the QPFs based on 2 latest models. What a difference compared to the over 1". Wow.

.63 total on the ECMWF
.62 total on the GFS

Obviously this close in time models will all agree on precip amounts as well as track and intensity.

To me based on this still looks like the heaviest most accumulative snows will happen around midnight.

And even if there no mixing involved at the beginning, .62 equates to 5-7 inches

If you look at the radar...there are 2 cells of precip. If those 2 merge...we're in trouble tonight.

Do you know if Hartford County is getting sleet mixed in with the snow? Because, if there will be sleet, I just know that I'm going to break my *other* leg walking the dog!

It's already a mess in Stamford according to DW. It's getting pretty bad in Branford. Looks like I'll have to leave two hours early for work this afternoon. Yippee.
