That's why I don't look at NOAA anymore.

I just look at AccuWeather, which is calling for snow only. No sleet. Yes, they're saying 9.5" of it, but they're not saying anything about sleet. So, I'm rah-rahing for them.

FYI.. Snow on the 30th maybe 1-3 inches judging by one model (still trying to catch up on so much today) and a bigger storm on the 2nd but looks like rain first on Feb. 1st then snow towards the end of it. Its not a coastal storm..

NOAA Forecast. Looks about right to me... I think the most someone "could" see is a foot in a coastal section somewhere.

One model this afternoon showed snow only, the other models showed sleet mixed with snow for first 6 hrs than all snow for 12. The one model that showed snow only is the model thats usually accurate within 2 days.

But its weather...things can change during the minute.

That sounds about right.

The thinking is that most of the more southerly portions of the Tri-State area will see more sleet and rain mix in, so places like far southern Connecticut, NYC, Long Island…etc will see about 4 to 7 inches , while in a zone up in central/northern Connecticut northward into New England will see 6 to maybe 12 inches. I really think much more than 8 or 9 inches even in the interior areas of northeast Connecticut might be hard to get since the storm will be moving really fast. Skies will clear by mid-day on Thursday and sunshine will return.

Here is the current map of rough snow totals.

Keep in mind snow ratios will be low so if you're looking at the total liquid to fall its not the typical 12 or 15:1..Most likely 8 and 10:1.

Be careful showveling this one Thursday. Great for snowballs.

DONT BE ON THE ROAD BETWEEN 4am-9am in Fairfield County!

NWS is predicting 7-11 inches for up here Wed. night.

At least this one is a fast mover. Starts about the time I go home from work Wed., ends about the time I go to work Thurs. morning.

This morning it only took me 10 extra minutes to get to work this morning. One of the advantages of living in nowhere... and being to work for 6:30 am.
