One of the most intense storms I remember.. The wind makes the whole thing incredible.

Awesome barometer!!! But 962mb? You sure? I'm at 991mb as well as all other sites around.

Storm center is 960mb but about 600 miles away.

I have no clue! Don't think I teleported 600 miles away. Thought it was a funny error. I included the picture just so everyone could see. It's really old, so my guess is that the sensor is whacky.

Deformation band from Maine to NJ. Intense under there. Moved past me so I got a little break now.

Heading out to measure and shovel again.

Wicked storm. Winds are nuts.

Cambium, you sound right, my "phone barometer" (yes, many smartphones nowadays such as my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge actually have one built in, it's not just some app looking on the web for the nearest weather station) is reading exactly 990 right now....

BDR, already at 7.7" and counting, blew away their Jan 4 snow record of 5.3" in 1988 (ironically, had the snow been tomorrow the record is only 2.0" in 2001). Similarly, I think on Saturday, their record low of 7 in 1988 gets blown out too (and both tomorrow and Saturday, their record low high is 18 set in 1996 and 1988 respectively, I think both could go though tomorrow's depends on what the temperature is at midnight tonight, Saturday's is almost a definite, even Sunday's record low high of 11 in 1968 has a shot). Tomorrow's record low in BDR is 2 in 1996, so there's a shot there too.....(record low Sunday is -3 in 1968 so I don't know).

Even Central Park's snowfall record is low hanging fruit that I think was already broken today (for some reason, for the official stations, NWS only has published a reading for BDR, ISP, and JFK so far), it was 4.0" also in 1988. Only other record I think they with their longer record have a shot at is record low high for Sunday, which (unless the NWS's chart is wrong, they have been on this before) is 19 set in 2014. I think it's right though as on that day in 2014 they were 4 degrees and it broke one of the most "lowest hanging fruit" January record lows, that of 6 degrees in 1896 (OK that record has a shot too).

And that radar is solid..A foot is likely

996mb. Much more reasonable. Guess that confirms my old one is wonky. A shame!
