Looks like the NWS is expecting an even bigger westward tilt than this one last night. 8-12 is reaching deep into FFC now.

Still 12-18 across eastern Mass. Wonder what local reports with drifts will produce in that region? Could see some 24 inch piles.

This thing's a juggernaut. Looks like two strong cells aimed at New Haven and New London counties.

Heading to the train. Wish me luck. Any possibility we get to a foot or more - that’s generally my cut off for avoiding a commute.

Looks like the only chance of that is the more east you go. Lower FFC is still mostly under the 8 inch mark.

Areas affected...From eastern New Jersey and Delaware into southern
New England

Concerning...Heavy snow
Valid 041106Z - 041700Z

SUMMARY...Snow rates will increase in intensity through midday, with
max rates to 3"/hr into southern New England after about 10am local
time.

DISCUSSION...Precipitation continues to increase offshore as the
surface low rapidly deepens. The heaviest snow bands were affecting
eastern New Jersey as of 10Z but heavy snow was rapidly developing
across Long Island. The zone of strongest frontogenetical forcing
will lift northward and strengthen through late morning, likely
resulting in an intense, pivoting band of heavy snow capable of
2-3"/hr rates from central Long Island to Boston. The rain/snow line
will remain nearly stationary near or just west of Cape Cod.

One of the most incredible type storms but the worst to measure. You literally have to walk around to get 3 different measurements and use an average.

Holy cow its wicked!

Yeah, hearing it on the news (WTNH), that we could see up to 2 inches an hour. Good news is that the plows plus the melting agents can keep up with it for a bit. Bad news is as it gets colder and heavier, the plows and melting agents can't do much.

Watching this live view of the roads from WTNH. Roads already look terrible! To think the heaviest is around noon. This is gunna be a nice little storm we got ourselves.

I don't wanna talk about it. I only have one yard stick set up, and don't want to walk out for measurements that much. Looks like I'll only have final storm totals.

EDIT: Took my measurements. 2.5 inches in the backyard.

Was very easy ride into the train. Only took an extra 10 minutes. Roads were covered but not overly slippery given temps. Metro North running on time with a full (non-weekend) schedule.
