I had to head to Virginia for work last night. I'm from Hamden. Any idea how it's looking there? I am coming back Friday but hope it's not horrible. I will have to attempt to shovel before I leave for work again Sunday. And check on my poor cats

Enjoying the posts guys. Keep em coming. Should of started a thread for this one I guess. lol.

8:40am-12:40pm Loop. Most insane thing is I don't see that backedge Eastward movement yet. meaning there's still a ton of precip coming. We're going over a foot?

Maybe it will just dry out from West to East rather than move.

Interesting, I made that same observation looking at the BOX radar. The bands seem to be coming off the ocean from SE to NW. I don't see an eastward push on radar yet.

I don't remember there being a lot of hype before the 1978 storm so I think people were taken aback at its intensity and snow fall. At least that's how I remember it. Hard to believe it is 40 years ago. Jay

Blasting snow, sideways, diagonal, swirling in Farmington. Almost 8" now and it's getting windy. Whiteout conditions.
There's no way I would drive in this--even if I could dig my car out. Even if they ever plow the parking lot.

I thought they said this was going to miss us.

Hmm, local news saying it's over in an hour.

Moving fast but maybe another few more inches. End in 1 hour? I think they'll be 100% wrong.

Starting to see signs of drying up in NJ but we still got another couple hours. Should end around 7pm

Jan 4, 2018 1pm Wind chills. Snowing and feels like near 0 in spots. Teens mostly.

Check out the temps! Warm on Nantucket! Storm getting close!
