Maybe they're alien landing zones????
He said that’s what’s going on on Frog Level Road. Not sure about the other places. I guess we’ll find out soon

When Piedmont Gas was rebuilding the line from Greenville to Washington a few years ago the contractor used the same setup at every work site. I’m sure that’s what it is again.

They're being put up by Price Gregory. Homepage A major gas pipeline is apparently being installed.

Duke Energy is laying 19.47 miles of 12" gas pipeline through Pitt County.

Price Gregory is the major contractor with site work being subbed out to Letourneau Enterprises LLC.

"Letourneau Enterprises LLC was awarded a contract by Price Gregory International Inc. for clearing, grubbing and matting on approximately 19.47 miles of 12-in. pipeline right-of-way in Pitt County, North Carolina. Headquarters is Greenville, North Carolina. The superintendent is Jason W. Mack. Approximate start date: May 20."

Interesting tidbit I found browsing the agenda of Greenville's upcoming city council meeting. They'll be hearing a proposal for the Imperial site.

https://www.greenvillenc.gov/home/showdocument?id=19056

Quote:
The City worked with both Seacoast and The Keith Corporation from February 2018
through March 2019 to solicit businesses interested in locating office space on the

Imperial site. Such efforts did not lead to an agreement to build office space as the
pre-leasing levels required by the developer to receive project financing could not be
reached.

The City began working with Seacoast in March 2019 to move forward a
development on the Imperial site that would be completed in two phases. The first
phase included the development of a hotel on the portion of the Imperial property that
fronts Dickinson Avenue. The hotel is envisioned to be a boutique style hotel with
the amenities, features, and character recognized by the hospitality industry to be
boutique in nature. The hotel would have a minimum of 90 rooms with a hospitality
rated minimum of three stars.

Phase two of the project would include non-student, market-rate professional units.
The market-rate housing units would consist of a combination of studio, one
bedroom, and two bedroom units marketed to young professionals wishing to live in
the uptown district and experience, the "live, work, play" lifestyle. There would be
no "quad style" units within the project, and leases would be structured so as not to
allow parents of residents to co-sign on the lease.

Both phases are modeled at a combined investment of over $41 million. At the
meeting, Seacoast Communities will present to Council and the public their vision for
the Imperial project and summarize each phase of the proposed project.

I've noticed what looks like mini cell towers being installed along Memorial Dr. There is one in front of Greenville Toyota and at the corner of Memorial Dr. and Regency. They are single black poles with what looks like radio electronics housed on a shelf about mid way down. I've also noticed a work crew boring fiber that appears to be interconnecting these poles. Any idea what this is?

Perfect.

The office space will come.

So we may finally have a hotel in downtown Greenville. The question in everyone's mind should be....

What took so long?

4G/5G antennas. I believe those particular ones are AT&T.
