No more colors? Aw. We never got the chance to get out of the purple tier and into the red. Darn!

I don't even know what that is supposed to mean

That's odd, I sure don't see the 'fear porn' in todays edition

His plan is to retire his coloring books 4 months before the recall election so he stands a chance.

Do Californians really need to wear masks after June 15?

California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Tuesday that on June 15, the state will "fully reopen" its economy and abandon the current color-coded tier reopening system as long as COVID-19 vaccines are widely available to all who want them and hospitalizations remain low.

However, the state's mask mandate will remain intact, precluding a true return to a pre-pandemic normal.

Every Californian over the age of 16 will be eligible to receive the vaccine by April 15, making it highly likely everyone who wants to be vaccinated will be by June 15. Two infectious disease experts from UCSF agree on the science that once an individual is fully vaccinated, they face minimal risk of serious disease — but disagree on whether the mask mandate should continue beyond June 15.

If everyone who wants a vaccine can get one I don't really see why we should have to continue to wear masks. I'm tired of these things, especially outside.

That June 15 date is when the campaigns to unseat Newsom will be going, that's why that date.

CDC: There's 1-in-10,000 chance of getting COVID from surfaces

The CDC website now cites several studies that "suggest that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection via the fomite transmission route is low, and generally less than 1 in 10,000, which means that each contact with a contaminated surface has less than a 1 in 10,000 chance of causing an infection."

While cleaning products with disinfectants registered on the Environmental Protection Agency's List N help clean dirt and bacteria from surfaces, the CDC says "there is little scientific support for routine use of disinfectants" in both indoor and outdoor community settings "to prevent SARS-CoV-2 transmission" from surfaces.

I went to the apple store the other day for a warranty repair on my ipad pro, and it was like someone told them that they had a 1-in-1 chance of getting covid from surfaces. Wiping everything down before handling in, wiping it again after giving it back to you, making you set it on the table before they touched it, etc. It was like another world. Night and day from a year ago when they welcomed homeless into the store to check their email.

It's so stupid at this point. I really hope the state and counties get rid of all this disinfecting crap in their guidelines they put out over the last year about covid soon. Unfortunately I think it will stick around for a long time, possibly forever. I can't even put cream and sweetener/sugar in my own coffee anywhere.

Again, this is not debatable. You seem to have this thing where you think scientific facts are debatable, despite having no scientific background yourself. Which is the worst thing about this pandemic. People who never even heard of coronaviruses before 2019, who now think they are experts on all matters coronavirus.

It is entirely possible to catch and transmit Covid with a vaccine. They are not 100 effective. Will it make it fairly unlikely, given social distancing and mask requirements in place? Yes. That's the whole point.

Now children being unlikely to catch or spread Covid 19, is extremely debatable. Children locked down at home very much reduced incidents of children getting Covid 19. But many children have contracted it, and a small number have died from it. The science simply shows that children's immune system handles it far, far, better than an obese 80 year old diabetic.
