There were also indications that sports were the next thing that would be determined on how they identified as opposed to their biology. I don’t personally have an issue with transgenderism in adults, and I get we are talking about deeply unhappy students, but these types of policies, which may seem like a quick fix in the short term, are detrimental to children in the long run.

I don’t want to get in a big debate about transgenderism, and it would not be appropriate for this thread or forum, but you do have to consider who a governor is going to appoint to positions as important as the Education Commissioner.
I see the controversial Education Commissioner appointed by Beshear has very recently resigned. That's interesting timing with the election coming up.
I don't know how the process works in finding a new commissioner or if Beshear chooses again. If Beshear chooses, he'll probably pick someone more moderate this time with the election around the corner. This will be interesting but I'm learning as I go.

Meanwhile, the TV ads against Beshear are getting brutal showing him posing with the "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" and claiming he punished Kentuckians for attending church services even when held outdoors during the pandemic.

he's beginning to look just like Gavin Newsom in California. I'm definitely not supporting him.

regardless, if the educational commissioner, did all those things and sent it out publically, bad on Beshear for not overseeing what was being done....that's still on him....and the resignation, proves the wrong doing which will hurt his re-election....

Ya don't mess with kids....

That wasn’t a claim, that is what happened. It got overturned by Kentucky courts.

It was more than obvious he supported that surgery when he vetoed the legislation banning it in KY. It took the state legislature to override his veto. Now that surgery no longer happens which must be a disappointment to him. It actually was on the nightly news about 7 months ago and I remember watching it, being grateful the state legislature has the numbers to override him.
He really does seem to get his marching orders from D.C. I can't think of a single issue he's not supported that the current administration supports including this one.

Beshear hopes Kentuckians have a very short memory or don't pay attention, but it's all documented if anyone doubts it. Here's the news article from CNN.

"Kentucky Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear on Friday vetoed a Republican-led bill that would prohibit transgender minors from receiving gender-affirming care, such as surgical procedures or the use of certain hormones, bucking a growing trend of states restricting access to the treatments."

I have not forgotten this thread, nor have I forgotten all the damage Beshear did to so many lives, all the lies, and lives he destroyed by shutting Kentucky down; the man is a puppet....and did exactly what he was told to do....plus the gender reassignments, which were performed, and if you ask me, that is gender mutilation...and should be punishable by law, that were performed surgeries within the state of Kentucky, which is logged....and on paper.

Be thankful you live in this state...we are.

We moved in the Somerset/Monticello area, and the past 4 years have been great. I just wish more major stores would come down here and make my wife happy (and me so i don't have to drive up to Lexington)
I wouldn't count your chickens just yet, if Behear is re=elected it's going to be a very sad day for Kentucky, as the poster said above me, he is getting his money from the liberal party, which means, if he wins, he sells his soul to them...and will change Kentucky, mark my words.

He is denying on TV that he allowed any transgender surgeries on children, and allowed them to groom the kids in schools...which is a lie...it's out there on the internet....for how long, I don't know sorry to say...they have been taking so much information down
