I should just not even look at the forecast beyond 5 days. It's changed again. Now coldest is 27 Monday morning. Around 40-42 Monday and Tuesday.

This week will be nice. Low in the upper 40s this morning. Nice to not have the heater run so much. Still overcast. Supposed to get to 65 today but we'll see. low 60s Wednesday and Thurs too before the cold comes for the weekend.

The cold blast is going to be focused on Texas/south central US. Georgia and the south Atlantic will remain mild by comparison.

Yea I saw teens in DFW with 20s for highs for two days in a row and maybe above freezing the 3rd day. Even my old zip code in Houston was gonna get pretty cold. In fact, 39 Monday with a low of 27. That's worse (by literally one degree) than our forecast. Difference is they'll warm up faster.

In other news it turned into a really nice day. Low 60s and the clouds finally broke up. Just partly cloudy.

I saw Seymour had 5.5 inches so it must have been a sharp cutoff from there to the south.

Definitely the case, Madison, IN had around 7 inches of snow, but far less in Clark and Floyd counties.

The coldest location in Wisconsin this morning was -35F at Land O' Lakes, in Vilas County. Merrill almost won the award surprisingly, as Tomahawk in the same county is often the colder AWOS.

60s and almost 70s in parts of Virginia and NC today. I know I complain about my lack of winters a lot, but today I'm just glad I don't live any further south than I already do. Three or four hundred miles down and I'd be in the middle of that disgusting slop! Hasn't gotten above 33 here, thankfully.

It's a pretty strong temperature gradient in the Mid-Atlantic. Here outside D.C. it never got past low 50s, in Richmond it got over 60, meanwhile in the Northern suburbs in Maryland it got only into the mid 40s and in Philly it topped out at 37.

OK let's see if this actually happens. A bit more than Seattle going by these estimates.
