Beautiful day in the keys today. At first I was worried about a chance of rain but that cleared out overnight. Ended up being sunnier than I expected too. Was in the low 70s most of the day, maybe a couple of degrees below average. Only cooling off to around 65 overnight. Dew point in the upper 50s. Damn I wish I could spend a week here lol. Checking out the Everglades tomorrow before heading north a little bit (Punta Gorda)

You can bank on it not coming for most of the U.S. Only my area seemed to have somewhat of a winter the last 6 weeks for the first time since Dec 2010. Still nothing like my 1980's winters with lows of 19 to 24f time after time. Still no temps below 32f and this will be three years in a row with no temps below 32f. And no highs in the 40's for years now.

I expect the rest of the winter to be well above normal and no rain at all until June. So far only .20" this year and i see nothing for weeks as a high is gonna build in and not move. Last two Feb's were blazing hot and the hottest ever so i expect another hot Feb, but just a hair cooler than the last 2.

We are done after this week. Gonna be record dry for months.

Ahh nevermind that was on Saturday. I was reading a two day old article... 31F was the high here, 30F at both Chicago airports.

Just read Yakutsk dipped to -73F

No, Yakutsk only hit -63F so far (still pretty good, and a decade low I think). https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/weather/current/UEEE.html

The article says that Delyankir, a town 750 miles to the northeast of Yakutsk, hit -73.

The dog in that photo is butt naked but seems to be enjoying itself at -58F. Hardy bastard
