Beautiful Sunny Winter like day! Love those street clouds over the Atlantic. Anytime I see those I know it's very cold aloft. (-12C currently at 5000' over the Ocean)

I dont get it. This year is having a Top 10 warmups for this time of year?? Is he talking about entire U.S? Even still, it doesnt seem like we have a big warm anomaly going on.

Is an interesting stat though regarding rest of winter.

This summer was cloudy here and I assume with all the rain events Long Island was too. I see Islip had 3"+ every month this summer. 6"+ in August. Was pretty much raining every other day.
our late summer was cloudier than usual, but warmer; not really a sign of less solar radiation just a regional pattern of a warm & wet airmass. The planet overall wasn't cooler and cloudier, it's just a regional pattern of cloudiness so solar radiation doesn't make sense IMO.

Dec 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 was nice! Sunny. Then starting the 8th, back to this cloudy BS. Looking at my log from 9th - 17th there were always clouds around but sun mixed in a few days, mostly in the mornings.
feel like most of last week was sunny, too. Maybe different on Long Island? would need to check

No. Most of it has melted except in cooler north facing areas (like my lawn). I don't think we've topped 2 inches yet, honestly.

You guys are acting as if Eastern US is 5F above average this December, when in reality it's been seasonable or slightly below average here. My local station is -0.7F below average for the month, for example

Have you had any real snowfall so far this month similar to here the last few days? Often it's quite volatile whether it actually does arrive in December.
