East Coasters get ready for a winter blast. The fun is just beginning. High latitude blocking negative NAO, Modoki El Nino. You better love snowstorms lol

Some mild winter weather lovers out east better book a flight to Florida for the winter. Major 180 happening on the CFS. January now looks brutal for the Northeast (as well as here)

^^^^^^^

I predict a record winter drought that will morph into a truly historic drought next spring and summer for the plains and Midwest that will make the dust bowl look lush.

I’m not holding my breath over the prospect of measurable winter precipitation in the Indianapolis area tonight through tomorrow night; I’ll believe it when it actually comes to fruition.

Now all signs of winter opening up like gangbusters. An amazing pattern is setting up for those of you who want cold and snow for the eastern two thirds. And look at Europe.

I'm looking forward to a white Christmas this year in SE Pa although there may be a lot more snow on the ground than we really want. Its been like December already although we did get a few days at the very end of October that were pretty nice. 2nd wettest year on record in Pa and now a cold snowy winter on top of it. No drought here at least.
I just hope we don't have to wait until the beginning of May for Spring like this past year.

I’m sorry it just doesn’t work that way. You can’t have it both ways, a cold long and backloaded winter leads to record cold springs. You either accept the cold snowy winter and wait till July for 3 month long break or you don’t. It’s a fact of life now. Northern hemisphere snow is pushing record levels and eastern Canada and the us are off to a quick start, combine that with cold ssts and you have the recipe for a delayed spring.
