I just can't buy that 3 month below normal crap for FL. Unless that high gets pushed well away from the east of FL. Upper levels are gonna have to really change.

How can people claim that this winter will be back loaded given that we're having one of the coldest Novembers on record??

I combine snow and cold to label the load.
Maybe the ones claiming that think it will be worse than now or maybe just snowier. Imagine a full loaded winter? Now that would be crazy. Feels rare to have that.

^^^^^^^^

This is true Chicagogeorge. If I knew any better I would say that this November has shades of 2014 written all over it. The winter of 2014/2015 was also a harsh winter, especially February, but the winter as a whole wasn’t cold enough to make the top 10 coldest winter season list(at least not in Indianapolis), even though February 2015 was the coldest since 2007 and the fifth coldest on record in Indy IIRC; also, snow was only near normal the winter of 2014/2015 as opposed to the record snow just the winter season before. I might be biased but I feel that the winter season might be a cross between 2013/2014 and 2014/2015; we shall see how this winter turns out.

Maybe some of you are having the coldest Nov on record. Mine has been the hottest so far unless we get the last half with much cooler weather. Now back in the fall of 2009 we had a warm fall and BOOM, Jan 1st 2010 we had the coldest 3 months ever from Jan till March.

This would be really awesome if it played out. Unfortunately I think that it's too far out to actually tell (referring to the Feb outlook). Even if we get a below-average winter, I feel like it will still pale in comparison to Feb 2015. That month was really something amazing and I seriously doubt we'll get that kind of luck again this soon (even with a chunk of the polar vortex detaching itself and situating itself in a good place), if ever again.

But hey, I'm all for being wrong this time. Give me another Feb 2015 and I'll gladly take it!

True 3 months out is too long. Plus, given how cold it has been for the eastern two thirds since mid October I doubt the pattern will hold for that long. But I guess it has happened before.

At any rate, the models are busting on this December. Especially the CFS. Its going to be quite a ride between now and Christmas. Especially out east

Not the rest of the eastern 2/3rds though and you're likely to see some below average temps as well if this verifies. Meteorological winter will open up like gangbusters
