You're right, Cambium. That is very impressive; a classic severe cold wave for the Northeast. I particularly enjoyed the record cold Macy's Parade yesterday; seeing everyone in such thick coats with all that steam billowing out the buildings was really something . According to Nei it was the coldest high at Central Park since 1882. Also it's really cool to see deep cold centered over the Northeast for a change.
Something tells me December ends up warmer than November. Been pretty normal considering most November’s this year have been below average. We will see. We are 6 weeks into this pattern with no breaks... that’s extreme. Something will give.
Hope you're right. Fingers crossed that 1968-69 analog holds.
I'll take snow, I hate grey skies and no precipitation without snow cover.
I would die for one cloudy day a year. We used to have cloudy days for 3 to 4 days in a row in the winters back in the 80's. It is so rare to even get a cloudy here the last 7 years.
You should trade places with some one in Duluth Minnesota or Marquette Michigan then, I’m sure you’d get more than your share of snow and cold there as opposed to downright comparatively “Tropical” Louisville.
Marquette is one of my preferred climates as I like Snowbelt areas a good bit. However, not too many positions in my career field there. I will likely just buy a rural parcel of land in the Northwoods and enjoy all the trails nearby as often as I can.
Yes, Louisville region has a nasty subtropical climate with extreme precipitation events becoming quite frequent. 63.00'' of precipitation so far this year in my area of southern Indiana.

I don't ever visit Florida anymore due to the horrid combination of heat, humidity, and brutal sun angle. I don't know why so many people enjoy the climate there, but the US has an extreme bias toward warm climate areas.
Just had a nice line of heavy rain. Got caught while riding my bike in some rain that formed ahead of it. Low 60's F this afternoon.
Nei can relate. Sounds chilly to be wet riding a bike in the 60s.
Upper 20s here with dews in the 0s.. Heading out for a jog to burn some Turkey Calories. I feel so alive with this weather!
7pm Evening temps... We go up from here thanks to clouds and a southerly flow coming.
Max of 31° at Hartford = back to back days of sub freezing temps.....If it holds next 5 hrs, You know what that means? Nobody younger than 40 years old living in Hartford area has experienced that.
Years Hartford had back to back sub freezing days in November. Only 7 of 113 yrs.
Been since 1978.

It used to be ok before massive weather changes took effect. If this is what is in store for the rest of the planet with insane dew points little rain and more sun i sure hope i am dead before it gets any worse. I am just shocked at how much it has warmed up in just 7 years time.
