Wind gusts picking up.

12:45-4:45pm Loop.

Snow squalls reaching down to Hudson Valley and into CT now. Newburgh now reporting heavy snow.

The snow is from Lake Erie + instability from the Arctic front.

Surface map... see the front? See the High? If not, then you'll feel it instead. (lol)

lake effect clouds always lead to exciting skies in the Berkshires and the rest of New England, especially when part of a cold front

Newburgh?! it's only 60 miles north of NYC.

Snowing here. 45mph wind gust with this squall that just passed. Snow with a temp of 39°F. No sticking, not falling hard enough.

Hope hikers are prepared. What an airmass to look at and experience in November. I never have.

Zoomed out

Don't forget. plenty of sites to see the current 850mb temps.

haven't seen the aviation one, though map looks familiar. SPC radar looks the snow has quieted down. Wonder if any snow will be left by Sunday? Very windy tonight, not much will stick.

Any hiker would know the conditions are terrible, but there's always a couple that decide to chance it on a holiday.

Rain storm Sunday and again Tuesday. Lol. Imagine that... 15° to rain within 48hrs. Welcome to southern New England.

Blizzard for Maine and NH tuesday though.

Flurries/Light snow in NYC, LGA and Newark. Temp 36-39°F.

Line made it all the way down. Now temps will drop hard. #ArcticFront

They'll be recording a "Trace" for today like me. Doubt anything is accumulating down there. Radar showing that line looks weak now.

Zero accumulated on Long Island though there were brief flurries; still above freezing right now

Albany probably won't break its record for coldest November but it'll come close
