looks like Saturday night's rains doesn't fall under a typical cold or warm front. Warm air floods in as the arctic air mass leaves, and then a coastal low goes up the coast after it exits

The high today here was 46F, and the forecast low is 29F. Big difference compared to northern WV.
Wasn't around to see maps today. Was there clouds around that would create that gradient and difference?

Check the 500mb map this morning I posted? That will give your answer. Polar Upper Low over Quebec so was closer to the core of the cold. But wasn't just NY and MA. Look... All of New England had the biggest departures.

11:30pm temps. Is it really single digits and teens outside this area right now? lol. Nuts!

BTW - Hartford might be having it's coldest Average for any November day. Max 21. Low 9. Avg 15°

I spy some ocean effect snow starting off the capes.

This air mass should cool down those coastal waters pretty good.

Seems like Augusta, ME tied a monthly record at 4 F according to NOAA:

https://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=gyx

(Choose Augusta for the location and click go.)

Anywhere else that has broken/tied a monthly record?

EDIT: Many monthly record low daily maxima were recorded as I saw in an earlier post. I'm more interested in the daily minima, though.

I don’t think so. It was sunny here all day yesterday, but I don’t know about the northern part of WV. I’m thinking it was because the high was centered in the northeast, and the closer to the high the colder it was.
