According to the NWS, the high here tomorrow is 71F and the low is 42F. We really never had typical early fall weather here for September, and we’re going straight from summer weather to late fall weather.

It has rained here all day on and off, but Friday through Sunday are supposed to be mostly sunny.

Got 1.81" of rain from t-storms overnight last night as frontal system approached. The best rain I've had in a while. It's been dry lately so it soaked right in; didn't see standing water in garden this evening.

Felt nice this evening compared to what it's been. May get into the upper 50's tonight; upper 70's forecast tomorrow.

Wow, just saw where it hasn't been below 70F since May 14 at the Lake Charles, LA airport.

DISCUSSION...
The upper level trough will continue to push off to the east, and
combined with flow from around the tropical cyclone, will provide
a deep northerly flow over the forecast area for the next couple
of days that will provide nice and pleasant weather. Looks like
the low tonight will be below 70F degrees at Lake Charles and this
will break a consecutive streak of 149 days that the temperature
has not fallen below 70F degrees at the official reporting site at
the Lake Charles Regional Airport or basically since May 14.

The high pressure system that will build into the forecast area
will move off to the east over the weekend, allowing for southerly
winds to return and a warm-up. However, this warm-up should be
brief, as another, looks like even more significant of a cold
front will move through late Sunday night and early Monday.

There is some disagreement as to if any over-riding clouds or
showers will continue in the southwest flow aloft behind the
front. Therefore, will go with superblend and leave a slight
chance for showers through the end of the forecast period.

Atlanta hasn't been below 60°F since May 4, which absolutely shatters the record for consecutive days with temperatures not falling below that threshold. The old record (2002) was broken by at least 20 days. I've honestly lost count of how many days at this point. Not only that, but May 4 is the earliest last day of sub-60°F temperatures going into the summer, and today or tomorrow will be the latest first day of sub-60°F temperatures coming out of the summer. Thankfully, once this bastard named Michael moves out, the summer heat will be over, and I can savor the fall weather.

And just like that we go from the 70s and 80s here to the low 50s and even 40s for high temps with frost and freeze warnings

CFSv2 supposedly showing warmer anomalies coming back for November. I don't buy it. I think we have a long term pattern change into a colder regime going forward now...
