lol.. Aside from the impressive split happening I like that "not even above 0°". LOLOL.. People show anomalies and ignore the fact that ITS STILL COLD and below freezing there. Impressive anomalies though.
I don't know how Southern Canada does it. These are wind chills. Lots of days below -10F it seems without any real breaks. On the same thought I have no idea how Southern Florida does it.
12°F (-11C) here. Fine with me.
Most Canadians live in the general vicinity of Vancouver (+50F in that image), Toronto (+15F) or Montreal (1F). And those are wind chills, so not bad at all. Weather is exactly the same as northern tier US for most of the Canadian population.
Only a month of winter left. I'll take it. Before you know it spring will be here. I also just looked, Chicago overtakes Seattle's average high on April 12th
That's true, but Seattle starts to get spring this month. Daffodils, plum trees, early magnolias, all start blooming in Feb. Early March at the latest. While the Midwest continues to be a barren wasteland until mid-April. Can you tell I'm getting homesick for the PNW?

True, Seattle does see signs of spring earlier, but then stops warming though, while the Midwest actually has a some sort of summer.
I don't like barren ground either. The good news is we might finally see some snow!
In the meantime, get used to this Arctic and Siberian origin air coming.

Oh man...."AREN'T"... These AREN'T Wind chills. I had to look at my post but I can't edit it now. SORRY! Those were temps. Aside from the big cities you mentioned looks like sub -10°F temps around down to Latitude 49N. More than one spot too which made it impressive.
Looking at the 850mb temps and the surface anomalies this morning it's pretty negative across southern Canada
Here in Vancouver, we're expecting rain for the next 6 days. Should extend our streak to at least 26 consecutive days with rain.
