Lake Effect snow machine keeps pumping out bands, and they keep hitting me

High today was 36 degrees at midnight and it has now dropped to 18... brr

Snow total was a hair under 3.5" today (had to improvise a ruler, didn't have one at my apartment but did have a measuring tape )

We've had snow showers on and off all day. At some points, the sun actually came out for a minute or so before the snow started back again.
