Currently 20F in Central Park. Way under forecast and coldest so far this season!

Today will possibly be our first ice day. Let's see if the max stays below 32F. I hope it will

Very good start to a Wednesday (esp knowing that pedos aren't winning Senate seats). Time to celebrate with a pre-sunrise 3-4k run

You beat me to it. Coldest since 2010 for NYC before Dec 15th.. I'll grab the min map later.

I did a double take at my readout this morning. 17°? Coldest of season and lower than forecasts.

I see why.... Huge trough carved out and the mid levels are frigid with an Upper Low over the region. -20C down to North Carolina.

Long Island Sound & Atlantic Ocean will be generating snow squalls

7amEST surface temps

Low of 13° this morning. Snow cover holding steady at 3.5" with 2-4" forecasted for tonight, hoping to get past 6" depth by tomorrow.

Felt very cold this morning, coldest morning so far? 19°F with a 13 mph wind so wind chill 6°F. Lingering clouds from the cold front.

Christmas Eve, new GFS runs. Now this is saying it will be quite cold (or at least cool) in the Deep South. What gives?

28F this morning, with light frost. Four of the past five mornings have been in the 20s. Overall average temp for the month of December is right where it should be - but will it hold?

Partly cloudy with tall cumulus clouds. 15 minutes ago there were snow flurries. Lake effect clouds after the cold front. Love the sky; no longer annoyed at the cold
