Looking forward to it. Airmass has become quite stagnant under this ridge and just yesterday visible satellite showed smoke from the CA wildfires drifting up the coast towards Washington and BC.
Starting to wonder how people live out there with the air quality. I feel the pollution here I cant imagine there.
Wonder how long California needs to wait to get a wet pattern again. Maybe spring?

That would be devastating. I'm still holding out for a pattern flip sometime in Jan which features a suppressed jet (similar to last winter) bringing needed rain to all of California.
Snow in the Florida panhandle. The deep South has more snow than a good chunk of the Midwest. Boy, what a weird winter it's starting off as! I love when the weather is so chaotic
Speak for yourself, people move to places like LA and Phoenix because they DON'T want snow, myself included
Yea, God forbid you experience a few hours of at most an inch of frozen precipitation for once. Thank God LA doesn't have snow. I mean, it only has a catastrophic fire going on but at least it doesn't have snow
I question how accurate those "feel like temps" are sometimes. Last week it was 16 and "felt like 0". Well, was the mildest 0 I ever felt. Could have easily been 20.

I think wind chill is stupid too. Just some contrived bull**** honestly.
I prefer to consider the temperature together with wind speed separately, and prepare accordingly.

I mean maybe it's accurate when the wind is blowing but in many cases it seems to be calm until a random gust blows. It's not like it's always constantly windy outside. Maybe that's when the Windchill is relevant. Tuesday we had high winds but most the day they weren't even blowing. I will admit it was bitter when it was but when it wasn't it was very pleasant. Especially in the sun. November started so overcast and gloomy but we are having very nice sun so far in December.

I saw about 150 feet of snow combined the first 18 winters of my life back in New York, not by choice. That is enough.
