Temps really took off yesterday once we cleared out, I’m sure we could’ve hit 70 if winds didn’t begin blowing from the south (cold ocean), some Wunderground stations made it into the upper 60’s.
Aren't you glad you don't live on the south shore?
[mod cut] this garbage won't last long. Literally the worst February day in NYC history, with EWR and NYC already breaking the monthly all-time record.
Rest of the week looks pretty bad but not this miserable.

Newark officially hit 80. The warmest winter temp on record for the NYC Metro area, Islip formerly held that title with 77 degrees (correct me if I’m wrong).

71° here with a nice southwest breeze.
I thank my lucky stars. The south shore is absolutely gross during spring warm spells and heat waves.

Reason: EWR hitting 80°F
lol. Yup. Lets hope it doesn't come back till July. (HA! Doubt that)
It'll probably stick around until late May, and then completely collapse.
By the way, yesterday's high-temperature map is wrong. The high in Pittsburgh was 78°F, which is an all-time record high for the month of February. (The old record high was 77°F on February 8, 1900.) It's amazing how temperatures in Pittsburgh are already within 10°F or 11°F of their future maximum for 2018, and we're not even in March yet!

Thanks for the heads up. Looks like they use AGC Pittsburgh for those maps. Went through this with Phoenix. Sometimes they don't use the main station on those maps. When there's several reporting locations in the area, the plotting of data depends on the order in which the data is received. AGC is before PIT.
