20°F right now, high of 27°F yesterday. We just had our biggest snowstorm of the season, at a massive 4.9 inches. Doesn't look as big, as some previous snowfalls had snow on the ground before. Report says snow depth is 5 inches, though the records say 5 inches was the max in February. I'm guessing there's a bigger difference between shaded and sunny locations, I though some of the first snow melted upon falling?

27F highs, I never knew you were having such impressive weather over there! Is that close to a date record / record-latest ice day or something?
Crazy! I had to use the scraper on my car this morning. Wipers and doors were frozen. lol

You mean you didn't see the 100 posts from me?? LOL
Hartford stayed in the 20s and its only the 2nd time in 111 years they did that in April! Only 4/7/1982 was colder. So yeah, this is an impressive airmass we had over the region.
It is amazing to me how weather service sites like Accu-W can keep a straight face when talking about how the cold will not relent in the NE until middle to late April. It was only a couple weeks ago that Alex Sosnowski was going on about how April was going to be above average and May even more so. That site really is just lousy at predicting beyond a week or so. As are every other site. You just never know beyond 7 to 10 days.
April is going to end up one of the coldest in decades if you ask me, and our peach crop is going to be wiped out tonight. Spring here just stinks sometimes. It takes forever to get rid of winter.
North American climate fail yet again. We just shouldn't get this cold in April ffs. But a deep low is bringing air straight from the Arctic. Remind me again where else in the world this happens in April??
I'm tired of it, honestly. I've had my fill. It dropped to 25F this morning, and its been at 32F or under for about 14 hours and counting. A little frost or two I can handle, but not a deep freeze of this nature after so much warmth.
I don't see April being below normal, but things of this nature shouldn't be happening this late in the game.
