Yeah, the sun is really starting to get up there. It's been a big nuisance lately, especially with the hotter than avg temperatures. Would be nice to get cloudy weather more frequently this time of year.

It was "bright cloudy" from 1 -2 pm, not all cloudy. Eh. See a bit of shadow. Bright cloudy can be a very photogenic combination, IMO.

78 F with a breeze and a 55 F dew point right now, doesn't feel too bad. However, upcoming days looking warm and humid, highs of 83-86 F and lows around 70-72 F, and a chance of showers every day until next Tuesday per the NWS.

Three days from Denver area to Pittsburgh, according to my brother. He lives in Pgh, I live in metro Denver.

There was 19" of snow in my back yard in Louisville CO (referenced in this thread) about an hour ago. Snowfall is 1-3" per hour. Supposed to stop ~ 4 PM. (Currently 1:18 MDT here.)

Actually makes for good conversation and perhaps a thread. We've had our fair shares of Blizzards here including 2-3 feet of snow in 1 storm and all we do is just say "don't be stupid, stay off the roads". lol Chains are illegal in many areas so we just ban travelling if its that bad. I guess out West they want to travel more or get enough snow to make chains mandatory instead of banning travel with each storm?

Anyway - Speaking of Travel... Ummmm, how do chains help you in this? INSANE! Look at the whiteout conditions. Seeing some areas having trouble with the roads. Crews cant keep up because of the winds blowing the snow on the roads creating blinding conditions.

Chris Spears has more videos on his feed. Pretty crazy

That is nuts but awesome. Wow! I assume your power is still on? Stay safe out there.

Also, out west many places don't salt their roads; perhaps chains are a bit of a substitute?

Updated radar and temp map...

So which side of Kansas & Nebraska would u want to be on today? 70s & Sun side or the 30s & Blizzard? side. What a gradient. and Note the >18" reports in CO. Reports you see with these maps are within 1 hour only (doesn't include previous reports)

Upper Low over Kansas now. 990mb Storm as well. They are almost stacked on top of each other. Dynamic storm!

I assume the snow there is rather dry out there? Low snow to precip ratios?
