Right. It's strong enough to push across and the entire Eastern U.S feels it.

Here are the surface anomalies for April 4th from the GFS12z today

Here are the minimum temps from GFS12z for April 4th. I would say it wont be 'that' deep but maybe 20s to upstate North Carolina? Freeze Warnings would have to go out.

The teens for you or the depth of it? 10 days out so I would say 30% chance its wrong? because Ensembles support it and so does the Euro. So there is support. Along with other tellies and stuff. But there's always a chance it wont be as deep a cold. There wont be a Hot ridge for that time period, that's for sure.

Nope. Just a normal flow at the upper level. There was an Upper Low over the Plains but that dwindled down and just got absorbed into the Jet Stream. You never have one over the Plains and New England at same time.

SPC Hourly 500mb Jet Stream Analysis

So the Upper Level winds are from the SW and even the mid level winds so its pretty interesting to see the cold up there hanging on....

Reason for their cold is the winds at the surface AND Check out the 850mb temps. Below freezing over Maine +11C over Buffalo

Surface Map. High Pressure near the Hudson Bay feeding cold air down to Maine and also creating resistance for the warm front over NJ I think.
