cold and wet today. Well 40s cold, not freezing cold. Northward flow explains the temperatures, this winter and early spring we've had a lot of warm rain but that's from a southward flow with the storm.

Winds are Easterly this morning, will turn northerly later on. Storms have to pass first. So the cool temps are from the moisture falling and the winds off the cold ocean and the clouds.

Current OBS Map-Winds.

Another look at the current wind direction with temps and the 2 storms

Ah. That makes sense, east flow is often wet and cloudy. This time of year ocean is cold relative to land, east flow is just as cold.

Heads up hikers above 5000'.

For Mt Washington looks like 3-7" of fresh snow tonight and tomorrow with wind gusts to 120mph which will make it feel like 15-20 below 0F.

Rain looks done here for today. Clouds should linger till sunset at least. Both storms will pull away and we get a more drier northerly flow tonight, tomorrow.

Right now it's in the 40s, meanwhile it's in the 60s up to southern NJ. 70s creeping into northern Virginia.

Chilly outside but 3-4 hours south of here wouldn't know it.

5 Maps.

Have you ever seen a Jet Stream do this? lol. I think it's drunk. Don't worry, it's normal. I believe the Upper Low is just making it inverted.

Today left. Tomorrow Right.
Double Barrel Lows will merge as 1 and storm will strengthen. Snow will fall on backside for higher elevations VT, NH, and in Maine.

Arrival Time of the Arctic front end of week.

South East gets spared the freezing temps. Models not as cold for South East anymore. Arctic front stops in northern Mid Atlantic

How deep the cold will be..

No low below 40 in my forecasts anymore. What in the world. We go from record cold in the forecast to normal to even slightly above.

Hot and muggy today, currently 85 F with a 70 F dew point. I see no lows below 70 F or highs below 80 F anywhere in the seven-day forecast. Great.....
