The forecast high today was 79 F, but it ended up being 87 F. Thanks a lot weatherman. I wish I got paid millions to be wrong.

I haven't seen the mountain background for a while now with the current sirocco spell. We've had a few very light rainfalls these last few days, but they did nothing to wash the air as we barely got a couple millimeters in total. Instead they stained everything with dust. Also, it's been a very dull opening to the month, with only 3.5 hours of bright sun over the first 4 days of April. Today the sun shone, but with that Saharan mess it could as well have been cloudy. Must be what a sunny day in a big Chinese city feels like.

I didn't put 2 and 2 together...

These were the 2pm temps today April 5, 2016.

Those aren't clouds over NY/MA/CT/RI. That's snow on the ground.

Impressive day across the region despite full sun. Normal is in the 50s across many areas.

Another look at the sexy snowpack Satellite image from today. Why couldn't that Clipper be 50 miles south more. That strip would be as well.

Its stressing me out worrying about what will happen, Bermuda grass is fairly green now, myrtles are leafing, and these tend to be the last things that green up as they are sensitive. I am worried about what will happen to them, but I cant let this stuff interfere in my life, its a very trivial matter as I have no control over any type of weather, only thing I can control is how I feel. Also on accuweather, it is still an outlier, virtually every other weather outlet is showing lows between 31-34 for tonight, yet accuweather Is keen on it being 27 tonight.

Climate fail is subjective and an opinion to which I am entitled. We are about to go into the low 20'sF in the peach orchards all over our area because of the sandy soil and radiational cooling. It has the potential to wipe out the peach crop.

Nothing to be really happy about that for me, but blame that on the warm March which I wish had never happened. It is not just the cold in winter here, it is how the temps go up and down that causes problems. If we had stability, the peach trees wouldn't be all bloomed out right now. Now you know why I like moderation and sticking close to averages. If we had stuck close to average, the peach trees wouldn't be almost totally bloomed out by now, and their buds would be able to take this easily.

Damn, that freeze warning is expansive. Another climate fail night indeed, forecast lowered to 21F. That'll probably slow some things down a bit.

I've noticed that my Windmill Palm doesn't immediately resume growth following cold snaps, no matter how mild it is afterwards, it takes awhile to start back up. Rosemary doesn't appear to have grown at all yet, which might be a good thing, no tender foliage to get zapped.

I'm not sure what's more impressive...today's high of only 40 F/4 C under a full April sun or the low of 20 F/-7 C. I'll cherish this weather while I can since we'll be withering in the heat before we know it.

Low of 19 F/-8 C forecast for tonight. Looks like another cold shot coming this weekend.

.
Yup, last cold shot slowed us but we were still ahead, now its put on the brakes even more with 20s and 30s for days. seems like we are heading to look like normal. Crazy. Like a 1-2 punch for growing season.

Yup. Make that a 1-2-3 knockout punch? We might not be ahead of normal bloom/leaf after all.

Max temps today. Is that 27 Binghamton? Wow. Normal is 50°! Their low was 12°this morning, normal is 32°! Crazy.

A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 9 DEGREES WAS SET AT SYRACUSE NY TODAY. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 15 SET IN 1982

A RECORD LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE OF 27 WAS SET AT HARTFORD CT YESTERDAY . THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 32 SET IN 1908
