India can be intensely humid with the monsoon, especially southern parts. Remember it's a stone's throw from Sri Lanka. Like Mumbai's dew point is currently at 79F.

No, it's much more humid. For example,

Mumbai, India Forecast | Weather Underground

Dew point in Mumbai is 79°F. Calcutta 81°F. Chennai is lower at 70°F. Calcutta averaged a dew point of 80°F this month:

tropical Brazil isn't quite as humid:

Why choose January for Manaus though? As that is not the most humid month there.

Lexington: Sunny, 86F
Tampa: Light rain, 76F

No wonder people in Florida go north for the summer.
