No heat waves, but August shaping up better than July (which isn't hard to do). I'm going to look into statistics to see how many years June was the hottest month (at least in max temp) of the year

Found it:

Quote:
That has happened only three times in 142 years (1871-2012) of official temperature data. July was the hottest month of the year in 97 of the 142 years. August, with 40 occurrences, stands in second place. June was the warmest month in 1933, 1967 and 1971 (and September in 1884 and 1891)
ASK TOM WHY: July and August are usually hot months, but has June ever been the warmest month of the year? | Chicago Weather Center: Skilling's Forecast and Chicago Severe Weather Alerts

June 1933 had an average max of 89.0F at MDW

Indeed.

The past few days here it's been 89F-93F with dew points 58F-62F. Any lower dew points than that and it does start to feel too dry to me.

I prefer 86F with dew points around 74F...or just 80F with 70F DP.

This year's record high was reached today: 33,5°C in Lääne-Nigula. Luckily long term forecasts are showing the heatwave will slowly start to subside in the coming days. Highs will be in the 15°C range by the end of the month. I can only hope.
