So we should take pride in the fact the majority of personal bankruuptcies in the US are due to medical bills? And most of those people had medical insurance?

We'll see how far that goes.. really, I wish you well. Let me know when it will take place, maybe I'll be greedy and not pay my medical bills since you assure me that national health care is right around the corner....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but even if you send someone to Mexico, they're still in the world

You'd need to provide me with a link because MOST people are not filing bankrupcy to avoid medical bills. Medical bills become a liability that gets put on a credit report. PERIOD. I have not ever heard of ONE individual loosing their home or other assets over medical bills. Please provide me with a source for this...

A Harvard University study found the US average uninsured's cost to be 307% of insured cost. Once again NJ leads the way , in NJ the number is 456%

I did, one such study, which would seem to support your opinion, Medical Bills Leading Cause of Bankruptcy, Harvard Study Finds

Actually doesnt.. It specifically sights

In many cases, illness forced breadwinners to take time off from work -- losing income and job-based health insurance precisely when families needed it most.

Even with a "universal health care" breadwinners would still take time off of work. Its not the BILLS causing the bankruptcies, its the lack of work, or will universal health care now pay for peoples mortgages and utility bills?

Find me ONE individual who has lost their home due to medical bills, and I might believe you, but I have never heard of a hospital suing and foreclosing on an individuals home and assets to pay a bill.

This boggles my mind - the mean spiritedness of it all. I mean, how about we end the wars, stop spreading death and destruction, and use that money to take care of each other in this country?

Anyway, I just don't have time for someone with this thinking in my life. My mother is the same way. However, she is 87 and doesn't seem to get that tax dollars are paying for her health care, yet she begrudges others from having it. I can't very well toss her out of my life, but I abhor her thinking.

What is wrong with these people?
I am sure it won't be any loss to them...
