No one is against people receiving medical treatment here. People are against having the government take money away from people to pay for it. If you wanted the simplest explanation possible, that is it.
So instead of the government taking money away from you to pay for health care for poor people, you want people who declare bankrupcty on their doctor bills to cause your medical bills to go up. How is this more just?
I think I am done being friends with someone where I live based on this issue alone. The night of the election this republican person I know said "why should everyone have health care if they don't work for it?"
This boggles my mind - the mean spiritedness of it all. I mean, how about we end the wars, stop spreading death and destruction, and use that money to take care of each other in this country?
Anyway, I just don't have time for someone with this thinking in my life. My mother is the same way. However, she is 87 and doesn't seem to get that tax dollars are paying for her health care, yet she begrudges others from having it. I can't very well toss her out of my life, but I abhor her thinking.
What is wrong with these people?
Last I checked, the Neocons got Obama elected. The selection of McCain caused many conservatives to stay at home. Look who Obama chose to be his Chief of Staff? The Repubs are finally getting rid of the Neocons. Ron Paul 2012!

Um, so your not arguing that the money I worked hard for, should be taken away from me, to give to someone else, and your base for this argument is fairness? Um, I think you just lost that argument..
for corporate america universal health is their worst nightmare. it is a weapon with 2 barrels. it discourages illegal immigration the source of cheap labor here, it forces illegals to pay their own medical and use doctors instead of ER. no more freebees. most illegals get a paycheck just like us, not cash. so deductions are easy to makeby mandatory deductions. 2nd barrel, there is going to be a giant sucking sound if universal health passes, see grampa out on the track going around for the 10th time trying to pass the baton, the only reason he is out there runnin is bek he's got to have medical, if he gets that medical the race is over. he will drop that baton so fast. and our kidults are not up to it---- moi work??, trust me on that.
productivity is going to nosedive. corporate america for all its faults is not stupid.
they will fight it.

And what you and yours are doing IS TAKING MONEY AWAY FROM ME! and spending it on wars!
And this thread is about affordable and universal health care. $20K is NOT affordable.
Stop, think, listen.
I have NOT been asked for a DIME yet from the hospital, or the doctors that provided with my care, or for the surgeries. (in fact the only out of pocket expense has been perscriptions). They did not ask me if I could pay before they provided the surgeries and the procedures on me. Yes, $20,000 is not affordable to most, I happen to believe in saving money for emergencies so I have it, but if I could not pay for it, the surgeries were still performed. Thats universal.. Everyone gets care...

Again, check out that constitution, where it says the federal governments job is wars.. Dont like that part of it, fine, dont like the "war" we're involved in, fine.. but that is the governments job..

You will be asked for MANY dimes. Ok, let's call it socialized medicine. Now does this make a difference and can you address my points?
