It probably is. All the folks who 'hid out' when the snowbirds were here have come back out. lol I can't really say that's true but what it seems like.

This is our 1st summer in Phoenix and the 115 temperature the other day was a little hard to handle but I think we can get used to it. Being out in the sun is kind of rough but it's much better in the shade or under some misters.
I understand 115 is usually the hottest it gets in the summer. Isn't the normal high around 102 this time of year? If it gets back down to normal and the air stays dry it shouldn't be too bad.

Today's normal high is 101, and our normal high peaks at 108 from about Jun 28-Jul 2nd. Then due to the monsoon it starts to drop again, back down to 100 by Sep 10 and 99 again by Sep 16

Because weather isn't a huge deal to some people, and even for the substantial number of people for whom weather is an important consideration, it doesn't trump things like cost of living, having a good job, etc. Plenty of people move to AZ not really liking the weather (at least part of the year), but come regardless for some other substantive reason. Same for anyplace with distinct and at times extreme weather.

We hit around the 115 mark often more than once during the summers, and usually 118-120 at least once, typically toward the end of June. I'm betting we will hit it at least once more this year, this past weekend was really early for it.

July and August will be noticeably more humid. September will still be in the high 90s - low 100's for most of the month.

Um, Sky Harbor has only hit 118 or higher 4 times in the 15 years I've lived here. The hottest most summers is the 114-115 mark
