Frustration. Ha. I have a huge work issue...co worker works part time, cannot get her work done part time. She does not want to work full time. Her work is not getting done. At all. Do I continue doing her work? Or let it slide?

If I bring it up, she is defensive. If I tell the boss, he will think either I want her job, or I am a mean b.

No one cares. And I am stuck. And I have a headache. Solve this problem for me, please.

The first thing I learned my marketing classes is that this price point works. As long as it works, businesses will continue to use it. Most people round down when they see the 99 on the end. Another good one is the 3 for 10 and so forth. Most of the time if you break it down, you are spending about the same if you just go and buy 3 of whatever when its not "on sale". Or they put the best bargains on the lower shelf because generally people only like to shop at eye level.

Buffets. My husband loves them. I cant stand them myself for a few excepts, Vegas and the casino in Detroit. They just opened a new chain buffet style restaurant by us, these are the ones I cant stand. So hubby was like a kid, couldnt wait for it open. Even kept track of their grand opening date. So he dragged me there tonight for dinner. Something about standing in a long line to pay, then standing in a long line holding your little saucer of a plate to get your food, simply does not appeal to me. Then the attitudes of people are like they are worried they wont get to eat and become aggressive.

Standing in that long line gives you time to look around and study people. Its disturbing. I'm sorry, I know this sounds terrible but what is it about buffet restaurants that brings in the most unattractive people to walk the earth? Then I started thinking about food lines. How scary it would be to end up in a food line because you are starving. If these people are all aggressive about the next trough of chicken coming out, cant imagine what a food line of starving people would be like. Then I got to watch a boy of about 4 yrs old stick his hand right into the chocolate waterfall thingy. He sucked his fingers and went back in for seconds before his mother noticed. I finally sit down and what is my view? The backside of a woman sitting across the aisle. Her pants were too low and her shirt was too high. i told my husband to enjoy himself because his next trip there will be solo.

My daughter refuses to go a national chain buffet. And I am with her on that.

From a many year management person, don't do her work. And, if you feel you must......complete it, put a cover page on it that says "completed by" and turn it into the management person. Don't just give it to the lazy part-timer after you do it.....you are enabling the person and she will only get worse about it knowing you will bail her out. Acutally if it were me, I would also put a friendly note on it to the manager which says.... "Wanted to make sure our company met its obligations, so I thought I would help out and work extra hard to get this done".

Very, Very Good advice Rural Chick! Especially the last part with the cover note. Get's the point across, and keeps Jasper out of trouble! Awesome!

I had to deal with a person like that many years ago ( I was 19) when I worked for a major insurance compamy's home office. The person in question was related to my manager, and I got stuck fixing her errors. She did not want to be there at all, and her serious lack of any willingness to do her job, let alone do it correctly was a thorn in my side. So when I went for my yearly review with the Big Dept manager, I asked for a transfer. He asked his questions, and I answered them honestly. I got my transfer, no problem. I was much happier. 2 weeks later, the gal I picked up the slack for was fired. The manager sent in a "drone" to check out the situation, and the manager I was previously under was demoted.

That is all.
As has been said, to get on in this world, one need only be moderately competent, considering the competition.

Have many noticed the "new" JCP (Penny')? The new pricing is all round numbers. Hasn't seemed to be much appreciated yet based on stock reports. So marketing to deceive works?

There are deceptions and there are little games -- and this is the latter. If someone is fooled and can't round up, I have trouble worrying about them.
