I just watched "The Hunger Game". I liked it. Didn't care for the subject but I liked it. Don't ya just love to hate Donald Sutherland? He's so gooood as a bad guy. Couple of times my poor old heart just went "Wham"! I no likie that anymore.
doubt (2008), starring meryl streep, philip seymour hoffman, and amy adams. i only caught glimpses of this and never got to watch it all the way through, so netflix sent me the dvd. very good movie with superb performances from the three stars mentioned.
Monsters University: I personally was a bit disappointed, the story seemed like it was put together at the last minute.
Hangover 3: This was trash IMO, first one was great and they should have left it at that
This is the End: Some funny lines but overall pointless and no real story
Blackfish: One of the best documentaries I have seen in a while, check it out
Cocaine Cowboys: Another great doc, check it out as well
Grown Ups 2: A few funny parts but pretty stupid overall
The Way Way Back: Solid story with a decent cast
Kick Ass 2: Not as great as the first but decent. Not as gory as everyone says it is.
Well, that's a bit harsh. Why? He didn't say he had no compassion for those with a life ending disease, only that the movie was stereotypical in portraying them. It wasn't a great movie, imho & I'm not soulless or apathetic to the plight of those with Aids or any other horrible diseases for thinking so.
Just watched 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford'...very interesting film and filmed beautifully.....you learn that killers have an honor that's far far removed from the gun and doing 'good' sometimes brings unexpected problems.
"Before Midnight"- for awhile, I feared I wouldn't love it as much as the other two. That it didn't have the magic of "Before Sunrise". That changed once the hotel scene came which is basically the second half of the movie. It was excellent, that scene saved the film.
