Other states should do it like Mass. The plutocrats come first.

As long as they’re wearing the right uniform, the sheep in MA will support it.

Yup. Just like the plethora of officials around the country caught violating their own restrictions, after condescendingly admonishing others and yet many fools give them a complete pass if they promise them crumbs. Stockholm syndrome at its best.

But then again it’s Florida.
Yeah, they definitely didn't think it through down there, looks like they skipped the thinking part entirely. While many people seem to have skepticism ranging from caution to paranoia, at this point, demand for vaccination far exceeds the capacity to provide it, so they need some kind of systems in place - clear operational rules and processes to guide workers, as well as technology to facilitate, to avoid pileups and conflicts.

At minimum, I imagine you want some kind of web-based logistical system that allows customers to reserve appointments at available locations and technicians to verify and check them in when they arrive. No appointment, no service. Ideally the app could also screen for eligibility for the current phase when someone is trying to reserve a slot.

I’ve made the point multiple times that we gave flu vaccine to more than half the country in 2019. I haven’t seen 2020 data. I got my jab at a CVS in October like every other year. The pharmacy tech approval for COVID-19 vaccinations is Federal and came from the FDA a month ago right before the Pfizer vaccine was approved. They also authorized pharmacy interns/student pharmacists. Every physician, RN, LPN, etc can administer the vaccine. There are 3.8 million licensed nurses in the United States. There must be about 5 million people authorized to jab a COVID-19 vaccine needle in your arm. This is a poster child for the total failure of national public health in the United States. These vaccines existed 9 months ago and the first Phase 1 trials kicked off in June/July. It’s what happens when Jared Kushner and Mike Pence are in charge instead of someone competent.

Correct but they aren't receiving any vaccine shipments and aren't authorized to vaccinate anyway because of the tier system. I doubt Trump or Pence or Kushner had any say in this, if anything it's bureaucrats at the CDC.

Let me be clear, there is no shortage of the vaccine. Pfizer has millions of doses sitting in a warehouse right now.

The CDC is a subordinate executive branch organization. The Federal government bought the vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. This is strictly a Trump leadership problem and a US Senate funding problem. The bill to fund this passed the House last summer. Leadership failure by old white dudes. Fortunately, they’ll all be dead soon. Only Keith Richards will be left.

Bingo. Maybe not about Keith Richards, but everything else!

It's not a funding problem. As you mentioned the distribution network already exists. You shouldn't need to do anything special.

Look at MA - even though the Feds have sent only 270k doses so far, they've only managed to vaccinate 70k so far. The Feds aren't the bottleneck. If they were serious, MA could send those doses to CVS and Wallgreens and hospitals all over the state and let them vaccinate regular people. You'd have to think that Biden (or Baker...) would scrap the tier system to think things will change.

Hell, I'll give you an easy solution. Scrap the STS sites and refocus them on jabbing people. So simple.
