And I disagree that mocking crazy conspiracy theories doesn't help. In fact, that's what needs.to be done. Treating them like they're legitimate and have merit, when they do not, is not the way to go. We see time and time again that bringing facts, data, and correcting misinformation does not change these fringers position because they're not based in reason. Giving them legitimate standing works against public health.

And I have zero idea why you are bringing up overdoses other than to change the topic or introduce a red herring.
First of all, they are large scale studies over very short duration of time. Second, there are many other studies (and scientists) raising legitimate concerns. Third, there are many reasons why some people may choose not to engage with the current batch of vaccine. Whether those reasons seem logical to you is neither here nor there. And I edited out the overdose comment, although there is some relevance in that it is another complicated public health problem which will not be solved by mocking people or imposition of what you deem logical.

Where are these large scale studies published in reviewed journals raising these legitimate concerns? And please don't me the conspiracy stuff that dissenters are being silenced or whatever.

If people don't want to get the vaccine for whatever reason, then don't. Just stand up and accept the results that come with that choice. That's your/their right.

If you don't want to accept that there are legitimate concerns (yes, both rational and irrational) then don't. Just stand up and lead your own life and protect yourself. And stop trying to cram your views down everyone else's throats by mocking people or attempting to shout down the views of people you don't even know.

The reality is that it's been the same half dozen or so people putting forward the conspiracy theories and denying the basic science, for over 6 months now. They have been approached in every which you can by numerous people here - respectfully, snarkily and at times, yes, angrily. And the tone with which the message has been carried has made zero difference, zero. Meanwhile, it's not like the alternative facts people are respectful, for their part. And no matter how many times they are debunked, the same conspiracy theories and disinformation are being hurled today as 6 months ago. It's all a very pointless, circular exercise really.

I'm sure there are dozens of reasons. Absolutely none of them constitute a cogent argument. All they do is reveal the ignorance or bias of the individual.

Whatever pal. Your opinion about what constitutes a cogent argument is NOT fact.

It ain't my opinion. The gold standard is peer reviewed studies, always has been. All these counter arguments are like revenge of the "C" students. Whatever.

Peer-reviewed studies are subject to interpretation and based on methodology. Science is a method of inquiry and is ongoing. Studies don't constitute a religion or political ideology. Yeah....whatever... Spanky.

Maybe we agree on this...the peer-reviewed studies that are published in reputed journals are not religious nor political.
