What about those on the ACA (Obamacare whatever)? And this is just one more example of why we all need universal health insurance. The way it is we've got the haves and the have nots. All depends on which way Congress votes, blah blah blah.

So a shot that doesn't work for the virus at all, cause it doesn't stop or prevent transmission...people are willing to take the same shot again hoping it works? Call me confused. Even these boosters they haven't changed anything so even if they work for the original virus, they haven't been tested for the current variant/virus, so whats the point other than you feeling like you did something.

What the h*** are you talking about? You're still barking up the "vaccines don't work" disinformation tree?

The vaccines and boosters are working for those who have taken them, including me. They prevent serious illness if you do get infected, and the viral loading is lower among the vaxxed so their chance in turn of spreading it is lower. Inconvenient facts for those who have denied the existence or seriousness of this disease from Day 1.

Don't lump me in with the anti-vaxxers. I agree with you on vaccines and boosters; I also agree that the Covid panic is overblown. Isn't there room for a moderate?

Of course, but it wasn't you to whom I was responding.

I know but this discussion involves the board. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of being somewhat of a free thinker. I do not let either side's dog whistles and stereotypes trap me.

In my view, "free thinking" includes the right to call out disinformation. To say the vaccines don't work, is outright false.

I’d add masks not lowering the transmission rate to the disinformation list.

Practical question--FDA just authorized a 2nd booster for >50. I want to get one. Any idea on how soon signups will be available? Just checked Walgreen website and they're not showing the eligibility yet...
