Good guesses! Sure brings back some memories! It was the old Conoco Inn. It sat on the south side of 24, which would today place it at the southeast corner of Lee's Summit and 24. The last photo was taken of the rear looking north from Lee's Summit Rd. That stretch didn't exist when the Inn was open.

Anyone know how construction is going on at these locations:

24 highway and Little Blue Parkway interchange.

The old Clark Bernard Drugstore later Safeway location at 23rd and Noland where the Quik Trip appeared to be taking over the entire block on Noland from 23rd to Fair.

At the old Candy Stripe drive in across from Hill Park.

Sure stumped me on that one. So the apparatus held the signage for both the inn and the Conoco station?

Brownie's Conoco Inn Cafe 1705 E. US 24 Highway
Carl Paul Conoco

Within a block:
Independence Laundry & Cleaning
(The previously mentioned, and stumping) Salisbury Hills Restaurant
